What is an ultra-thin skin base?
An ultra-thin skin base is a clear polyurethane membrane, often marketed around 0.03–0.08 mm. Hair may be injected, looped or ventilated into it. The smooth underside accepts tape or liquid adhesive, while the fine perimeter needs careful handling during removal and cleaning.

Fit
Who does a skin base suit?
Skin can suit someone prioritising a close, smooth surface, easy visual inspection of the bond and a clean perimeter. People who sweat heavily or prioritise airflow may prefer lace or a hybrid. Very thin skin also rewards gentle removal and realistic expectations about handling.
Skin is not one product. Compare thickness, perimeter design, hair ventilation and repairability before choosing.

How does skin compare with lace and hybrid bases?
Skin gives a smooth solid membrane, lace offers open-mesh airflow, and hybrid places different materials where their strengths are useful. A fine lace front can soften the hairline; a skin perimeter can simplify attachment. The best choice depends on what you value and will maintain.

Common questions
What else should you know?
These answers cover practical starting points in 40–60 words. A stylist can explain fitting and care; a dermatologist should assess symptoms, allergies, scalp disease or unexplained hair loss.
How often does a bonded hair patch need servicing?+
Most bonded systems are checked, cleaned and reattached every 3–4 weeks. The interval can shorten with heavy sweating, oily skin, frequent helmet use or Kolkata’s humid monsoon weather. Your stylist should set the first interval after seeing how your scalp and chosen attachment behave.
Can a hair patch be removed again?+
Yes. A bonded system is reversible and is removed during servicing with products suited to the adhesive and base. A clip-on system can usually be removed daily. Pulling or using household solvents can damage the base, natural hair or scalp, so ask for a removal demonstration.
Is the thinnest skin base always best?+
No. A thinner membrane can disappear neatly at the edge but may be less forgiving during removal, cleaning and daily handling. A slightly stronger skin, hybrid or mono construction may suit a first-time wearer or demanding routine better. Compare finish and maintenance together, not thickness alone.
