Coverage
Who does a hair patch suit?
A hair patch solution can cover one defined area rather than the whole head. It often suits recession through the front, crown or top, including common Norwood-pattern stages where useful hair remains at the sides and back.
The assessment is practical rather than diagnostic. We look at the shape and size of the area, the hair available for blending, and whether you want a bonded or removable system. These five patterns match the choices in our one-minute hair patch consultation.
Base guide
Which base should you choose?
The best hair patch for men is not automatically the thinnest or most expensive. Lace favours a soft front, skin gives a close surface, hybrid balances both, mono is built for durability, and clips suit people who want daily removal.
| Base | Look | Typical life | Kolkata humidity | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ultra-thin skin (poly) | Close, clean finish | 3–6 months | Good with the right adhesive | ₹8,000 |
| French / Swiss lace | Fine front hairline | 4–8 months | Very breathable | ₹9,000 |
| Lace front + skin | Balanced realism | 6–10 months | Breathable front, secure perimeter | ₹10,000 |
| Monofilament | Structured and durable | 8–12 months | Comfortable with regular care | ₹10,000 |
| Clip-on | Removable daily | 6–12 months | No bonded wear | ₹6,000 |
Fine materials can create a very natural looking hair patch, but they also need careful handling. A durable base may be better for daily use and travel. Compare the broader hair patch types guide before deciding.
Attachment
How is a hair patch attached?
Tape is tidy and predictable, liquid adhesive can give a close bond around detailed edges, and clips make the system removable. The right method depends on your base, scalp, activity and whether you want continuous or daily wear.
| Method | Advantages | Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Tape | Quick, controlled application; straightforward servicing | Edges need correct cleaning and replacement |
| Liquid adhesive | Close bond and useful for fine perimeter work | Removal and cleaning take care |
| Clips | No bonded wear; easy to remove at home | Needs enough secure natural hair |
Fitting day
What happens during the fitting?
Allow about 2 hours. The stylist checks the agreed system, prepares the coverage area, attaches it, then cuts and blends the hair while you can see the shape develop and ask for adjustments.
- Check. Confirm colour, density, base and hairline.
- Prepare. Clean the scalp and trim only the agreed coverage area.
- Attach. Position and secure the system without rushing the hairline.
- Cut and blend. Shape the system into your existing hair and preferred style.
Ownership cost
What does a hair patch cost to run?
The upfront price starts at ₹6,000 including fitting. Ongoing cost combines servicing from ₹1,000 per visit and replacement over the base’s useful life, so a stronger base can cost less per month despite a higher starting price.
Use the hair patch price estimator to compare coverage and length. It gives a range, not a quote, because density, colour work, stock availability and custom construction are confirmed in person.

How long does it last, and how often is it serviced?
Base life ranges from roughly 3 to 12 months in our planning table. Most bonded systems need a hair patch service every 3–4 weeks, while heat, monsoon humidity, sweat, oil, washing habits and sleeping friction can shorten both hold and lifespan.
Servicing removes old adhesive, cleans the scalp and base, checks the system, then re-bonds and restyles it. We also offer servicing for patches bought from any brand.

Hair patch, transplant or wig?
A patch gives immediate non-surgical coverage, a wig covers the full head, and a transplant is a medical procedure whose suitability and timescale require assessment by a qualified clinician. They solve different problems and involve different commitments.
| Option | Coverage | Timing | Ongoing care |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hair patch | Defined hairline, crown or top | Immediate after fitting | Service every 3–4 weeks |
| Full wig | Whole head | Immediate after fitting | Cleaning, styling and attachment care |
| Transplant | Depends on clinical suitability | Growth develops over months | Clinical aftercare; medical advice required |
Good to know
What do people ask before booking?
These are the practical questions we hear most often. Your own recommendation can still differ because coverage, base, routine and attachment are personal.
Will a hair patch look natural?+
It can look natural when the colour, density, base and front hairline are matched to you. The cut-in matters as much as the system. We keep density believable and show you the result from every angle before you leave.
Can anyone tell that I am wearing one?+
A well-fitted system should sit flat and blend with your existing hair. Very heavy density, the wrong colour or delayed servicing can make a patch easier to notice, so the fitting and aftercare plan both matter.
How is a hair patch attached?+
Most systems use specialist tape, liquid adhesive or a combination of both. Clip-on systems are removable. We recommend the attachment after discussing your scalp, exercise, travel and how often you want to remove the system.
Can I shower, exercise and wear a helmet?+
Bonded systems are designed for everyday routines including showers and exercise. Kolkata heat and humidity can reduce hold time, so an active routine may need a different adhesive or a shorter servicing interval.
How long does a system last?+
Typical life varies by base and care: delicate skin and lace favour realism, while mono and hybrid constructions generally favour durability. The ranges in our comparison table are planning guides, not guarantees.
Does fitting hurt?+
Fitting is non-surgical. Hair in the coverage area may be trimmed, then the clean base is secured and cut into your preferred style. Tell the stylist about any scalp sensitivity before adhesive is applied.
How much maintenance is involved?+
Plan for a professional clean and re-bond around every 3–4 weeks, plus gentle washing and careful brushing at home. Your exact interval depends on your base, skin, activity and the weather.
Is this the best hair patch for every man?+
No single base is best for everyone. The best hair patch for men is the one that balances the hairline, comfort, durability, budget and maintenance that matter to that individual.
